meant to say the storyline is good to solo and you always have Dungeons like the Daily Boss Quests etc to group battle with. Best place to meet new ppl, and observe other classes etc.Īgh been awake for 32hours. the DBQ Dungeon changes every day, well between a set number of Bosses, and it a group event. and for me, thats where the Daily Boss Quest comes in, and where I got a lot of my powerful gear (tho at entry level, i highly suggest a quest line that takes you through different power level of a weapon - hmm he hung out in the Town Square last I remember. questing in groups, i find, takes me off my path sooooo often. Though for one or two of my lower level friends would teleport to me and help me, wen he saw i was online. Even with that factor, it's very rare that I can't find people doing things that I'm wanting to do.Īll kinds of yes on the solo game, i did it that way. On the up side, if you like the quirky humor and casual playstyle, you can accomplish 99% of the game solo so population doesn't matter as much as in other games. You can believe me and Khalgar, or you can believe the guy with the incredibly appropriate name, or even better yet, since it's a free game, try it out and see for yourself. Steam numbers aren't the full population because AE has their own launcher and it's cross platform mobile so there are many that use mobile apps to play. Originally posted by Handoiron:There are plenty of people playing. You might personally not like the evolution of the game of the development's direction (and, again, that's a valid opinion, as some critisims can totally be made), but he was asking about the population of the game, which is not at all reduced by 90% from the "peak" of the game. However, it just takes 2 minutes to check the population of the game by just logging in and you'll see that it is VERY MUCH alive (again, every dungeon has open parties runing at pretty much anytime, events are farmed 24/7, there are people in every zone 24/7 etc.). Besides, the game has been here for some time now, so it is normal that some players left and new ones joined. Just because you and the 5 people in your friendlist stopped playing =/= everyone stopped playing. There are some very valid critisms to make (although overall I really enjoy this game, so are most people according to the review here), but saying the game is "dead" is not, and is just false. I also play since the alpha (with some breaks), and I really do not care if people criticize the game. But hey if you like playing a 3D game with the graphics, storyline, and updates of a 2010 game, by all means, go ahead, it's your time your wasting, not mine. Won't be long either till the remaining realize how bad a company AE is, and up and go. Compared to the population when it was booming to now, yes, It pretty much is dead. Nobody cares about this poorly optimized game anymore, besides the people new to it, or those trying to hold on, for the sake of nostalgia. I've blindly followed and supported their games since Adventure Quest back in 2008. Don't tell me what I can or can't do, I know how the company's game works. The game has failed to retain it's player base and community. Almost 90% of all the original players have left. Don't be that guy who can't take any criticism for a game they play. not a troll attempt, It used to be bigger, I've played since alpha and have spent money on guardian, cosmetics and travel transformation. Note that you can freely switch servers so you should choose the server you play on according to what you want to do (if you want to do dungeons with full random groups, better switch to red or blue dragon for example). There are a lot of players ingame (more than ever I would say), and you will always find an open party for any dungeon (and players in any zone).
